Pooch Plunge 2025

1. For the safety of all participants (four and two-legged), every dog must be accompanied by a human designated guardian. A general ticket is for one dog and one person. The maximum ratio is 2:1 – 2 dogs with 1 human.
2. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and supervised at all times on the pool deck.
3. No puppies under 16 weeks allowed.
4. All dogs must wear a collar and ID tags at all times.
5. All dogs must be in good health with a current rabies certificate, current vaccinations. All dogs must be spayed/neutered and free of parasites. In the event that your pet causes harm to another individual or another pet you will be required to show immediate proof of current rabies vaccination.
6. Dog Swim only. No humans allowed in the pool.
7. Dogs must enter and exit the pool area on a leash.
8. No aggressive dogs. If your pet has EVER shown aggression toward a human or another pet, they are not permitted at this event.
9. Dogs must not be left unattended at any time. Keep your dog in sight and under voice control. Dog guardians are responsible for the actions of their dogs. Dog guardians should be aware of their dog’s behavior and must leave if requested.
10. Dogs displaying aggressive behavior or fighting must be controlled and removed. No refunds will be given in the case of a removal.
11. Dogs are not permitted to defecate in the pool and deck area. Please use grassy area behind the pool deck. Dog guardians must clean up after their dog. Poop bags are provided. Failure to pick up after your pet will result in removal from the event without reimbursement.
12. Harsh handling of animals is not tolerated. Any person deemed by Pooch Plunge staff or volunteers to be abusing or neglecting an animal will be asked to leave.
13. No human food or glass items allowed in pool deck area.
14. Do not feed dogs without owner’s permission.
15. No smoking.
16. No running.
17. No foul language or offensive behavior.

19. Serious problems resulting in injury must be reported immediately to an appropriate AJCC representative.
20. Damage to property, including trees, shrubbery, furniture, etc. will not be permitted and violators will be held responsible.
21. Rain or shine event. No refunds will be given due to inclement weather.
22. If you have a fever or have had COVID symptoms 48 hours prior to the event, we ask that you not attend this year’s event.
23. AJCC employees and volunteers reserve the right to limit attendance for safety.
24. Failure to comply with the above rules will result in removal of the event without refund.

Waiver of Liability and Indemnification

As consideration for the right to attend and/or participate in the Allen Rosen Aquatic Center’s Pooch Plunge (the “Event”) on September 6th, 2025, I acknowledge that I am voluntarily attending and/or participating in the event, with or without my dog(s), entirely at my own risk.

I understand that attending and/or participating in the Event necessarily involves inherent risks of injury to me, other people, my dog(s), and the dogs of others. I understand these risks are entirely my responsibility. I expressly assume these risks. I am aware of the inherent risk incurred by entering the pool areas and being around dogs, whether leashed or unleased, and I choose to enter the premises, knowing the conditions might become more hazardous and/or dangerous for myself, my belongings, and/or my dog(s). I understand the risks may include, but are not limited to, physical or psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, economic or emotional loss, or death to me or my dog(s). I understand all risks are entirely my responsibility, and I expressly assume all risk of loss, damage, or injury, whether known or unknown.

By signing this release of liability, I (for myself and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, and personal representatives) hereby fully and forever release and discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless, the Knoxville Jewish Alliance, its employees, agents and volunteers from any and all claims, suits, or actions of any kind whatsoever for any and all liability, damages, compensation or otherwise (including, but not limited to, attorney’s fees and costs), whether present or in the future, known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, resulting from or arising out of my attendance or participate in the Event.

I also grant permission to these organizations to use pictures or videos taken of me, my family, and/or my dog(s) during participation in this event. I understand these images may be used for promotional, news, research, and/or educational purposes, including on the internet and social media. I understand that images posted on the internet can be downloaded by any computer user. I waive my right to inspection or compensation, and I release, discharge, and hold harmless the Knoxville Jewish Alliance, its employees, agents and volunteers, from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action that I may hereafter have reason of anything contained in the photographs or video.

BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND, AND AGREE TO THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY.
