The 6th annual Knoshville: A Jewish Food Festival brings together all Jewish community organizations in the Knoxville and Oak Ridge area to share a variety of Jewish-themed cuisine with our greater community. The event’s name is a play on the Yiddish word “nosh,” which means to snack or nibble.
The event will kick off with a proclamation by Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon and a cake to celebrate Israel’s 75th birthday. The event is hosted at Arnstein Jewish Community Center on April 30 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with the mayor opening the event at 10:45 a.m.
This one-day event provides a flavor of Jewish and Israeli food and culture. We welcome you to come for the food and stay to wander through the Living On Holocaust exhibit on loan from the Tennessee Holocaust Commission and the Jewish Community Archives history exhibit. Then take time to visit the art sale, buy a gift from the Judaica shop, watch and join in Israeli dancing, and bring your kids to play in the Kid Zone.
Visitors will have an opportunity to taste a wide variety of traditional Jewish and Israeli foods from sweet noshes such as Bundt cakes, rugelach, and hamantaschen to savory noshes like ocean shawarma, challah, and knishes.
Free parking and a shuttle service will be available at 6616 Deane Hill Drive and at the Bearden Branch Library at 100 Golf Club Road. Accessible parking will be available at Arnstein Jewish Community Center at 6800 Deane Hill Drive.
Tickets for food, drinks, Kid Zone wristbands, and Hebrew Tennessee t-shirts can be purchased in advance online or at the event. A suggested ticket purchase is $15 per person, and cash and card are accepted at the event. Checks will be accepted for the art and Bundt cake sales.
