Knoxville Jewish Alliance and Hadassah Knoxville-Oak Ridge invite you to join us for a day trip to Chattanooga to tour two important exhibits. We will have coach bus transportation from the AJCC, leaving at 10:00am and returning around 5:30pm. You are free to bring your own lunch or purchase a box lunch provided by Nixon's Deli.
First, we'll view The Perpetrators at the Chattanooga Jewish Cultural Center, on loan from the Tennessee Holocaust Commission. This series of lithographs created by artist Sidney Chafetz depicts the individuals who carried out the policies of the Third Reich during World War II.
Next, we'll join with Hadassah Chattanooga for an open program to tour Americans and the Holocaust: A Traveling Exhibition for Libraries. The Chattanooga Public Library is one of 50 libraries selected to host this traveling exhibit from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. The special exhibition examines the motives, pressures, and fears that shaped Americans' responses to Nazism and World War II. Click here for more information about the exhibit. Bus Reservation
A coach bus with seat belts and air conditioning will be leaving from the AJCC at 10:00 am to take us to the Chattanooga JCC for lunch and tour, then to the Downtown Public Library, then back to the AJCC around 5:30pm. Bus tickets are $10 per person. If you wish to provide your own transportation and meet us at the exhibit, choose "No".
Box Lunch
Box lunches from Nixon's Deli are available for $10 each. This includes a 6-inch sandwich, chips, cookie, and a drink. Sandwich options are Tuna Salad or Veggie Supreme.
You are also welcome to bring your own vegetarian or dairy sack lunch (no meat), and coolers will be available on the bus for storage.
Deadline to order lunch is noon on Friday, Feb. 3.
